Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team at Acuity. As a Customer Service Representative - Claims, you will be responsible for taking loss information over the telephone and electronically from insureds, agents, and claimants. Your primary duties will include inputting information into the system, assigning claims, offering rental cars when applicable, and issuing pages to handlers. You will also process miscellaneous paperwork, bills, checks, and medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input Automobile, Property, General Liability, and Workers' Compensation losses received via mail, email, fax, webpage, or phone into the Claim System.
  • Index various claims documents.
  • Input and pay towing, roadside assistance, and auto glass claims.
  • Process the Workers' Compensation EXP9 queue. Claims with minimal anticipated activity are set-up and handled by the system/team.
  • Match checks to attachments provided by Claims Representatives. Prepare, fold, and mail checks daily.
  • Order claim payment audit letters and enter all incoming responses.
  • Process medical bills sent in by providers. Send bills to our third-party reviewer, CorVel. Review and resolve discrepancies with CorVel.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Data entry experience required. Customer service experience or training is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills that lend well to a telephone-based service environment.
  • Ability to work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • Computer knowledge with data entry background. Ability to achieve 6,000 - 6,500 keystrokes per hour on alphanumeric data entry with minimal errors.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Capable of adjusting priorities to maintain loss reporting timeliness.
  • Near-perfect attendance and scheduling flexibility are essential in support of prompt claim servicing.
  • Ability and willingness to voice ideas and opinions in monthly unit meetings.
