Job Overview:
The Geriatric Care Assistant (GCA) plays a vital role in delivering fundamental care to elderly individuals under the guidance of a licensed nursing professional.
Employing an elder-centered methodology grounded in Elder-centered principles, the GCA offers personal care and support with daily living activities.
Each Geriatric Care Assistant (GCA) is entrusted with providing routine nursing care and other essential services tailored to the Elder's assessment, preferences, and care plan, ensuring the highest standards of care are upheld consistently.
The GCA is typically assigned to a primary household of 16 Elders, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.Qualifications:
Required:
Maintains valid licensure/certification/registration.
Iowa Certified Nurse Aide or recent course completion and passing test scores.
Active status on the Direct Care Worker's Registry.
Preferred:
Prior experience in the healthcare sector.
