Job Summary:The Butte Native Wellness Center is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a PMHNP, you will provide culturally sensitive outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management services to adult and youth patients with behavioral health needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess mental health status through medical history examination, comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, and risk factor identification.
- Utilize psychotherapy modalities and psychopharmacology to establish a regimen of therapy and prescription medication.
- Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments.
- Evaluate patient progress and provide support and education to families and communities.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and explain results to patients.
- Initiate consultation, collaboration, and referral requests to specialists and other health professionals.
- Practice as part of a care team and counsel patients during appointments as necessary.
- Provide culturally competent care with respect to culture, tribal, and spiritual beliefs.
- Track data for grant funders as required.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) required.
- Currently licensed to practice in the state of Montana or ability to become licensed.
- Experience working as PMHNP with adult and youth/children preferred.
- Experience working with underserved populations.
