Job Summary

The Licensed Outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing quality mental health services to qualifying children, adolescents, and young adults at Victor. This role involves providing individual and/or family sessions as determined by the member receiving the services and the Therapist.

In addition, the Therapist is responsible for completing all documentation and written reports required by the Agency and Health Insurance Provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides in-clinic and field-based individual and family treatment to children, adolescents, and young adults with a range of psychological, emotional, and behavioral problems, on an as needed basis.
  • Completes comprehensive mental health assessments to assigned members to determine the need for mental health services.
  • Develops treatment plans and goals based on assessed areas of needs and strengths identified in the assessment.
  • Monitors and evaluates client's progress on identified goals in the treatment plan.
  • Completes all required clinical documentation in an electronic health record system within required timelines.
  • Effectively works with program leadership and team members to provide support services in accordance with program structure with assigned members.

Requirements

  • Completion of a clinical program with a Master's or Ph.D. degree in a field of behavioral science from an accredited educational institution.
  • Holds a current license with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  • Must have good oral and writing skills in the English language, including the ability to write concise, informative professional reports and assigned documentation in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to effectively engage at-risk populations, including children, youth, and their families, in whatever setting is most convenient and beneficial to them.

Position Requirements

  • Must possess a valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance, and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency's Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit in accordance with the Agency's Policy: Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations.
  • Must be willing to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test and drug screening test.
  • Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
  • Must be willing to work within a culturally integrated workplace and be willing to respect human differences based upon protected classes as defined by state, federal, and local laws.

Physical Requirements

  • Have an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in a residential, office, or outdoor environment, including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), alternating between standing and sitting for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, balancing, and occasional carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Physically able to walk up and down stairs routinely.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicle for traveling to sessions in the office, clinic, or other community setting, which may be up to 100 miles driving distance.
  • Requires the ability to utilize computer and telephone systems, which includes the coordination of eye and hand and fine manipulation by the hands and fingers for typing, writing, and working with files.

  • Fluency in regional threshold languages spoken by the population served.
