Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Clackamas, Oregon.

Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services in a hospital and/or clinical setting. Your expertise will include OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular superficial structures. You will also perform clerical duties as required and work collaboratively with the Radiologist to ensure seamless patient care.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Performing diagnostic procedures using advanced knowledge and skills to include routine, emergent, portable, and surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication with Radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient care.
  • Assisting patients and transporting them as needed.
  • Reviewing exams, filing work, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Participating in Quality Assurance functions to ensure high-quality patient care.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Ultrasonographer Program or 2 years of previous Ultrasound experience.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration:
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-GYN required at hire from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Sonography Technologist License (Oregon).
  • Basic Life Support within 1 month of hire.
Additional Requirements:
  • Daily use of diagnostic equipment and Imaging and health care computer systems.
  • Demonstrates customer-focused service skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience performing Ultrasound exams, preferably within the last 3 years.
  • Vascular Ultrasonographer experience preferred.
  • Organizational skills, time management, prioritization, planning, attention to detail, problem-solving, decision-making, and technical skills.
