Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager to join our team at Genacross Lutheran Services. As a key member of our dietary services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of food to residents, as well as assisting in the distribution of resident meals during dining experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Review menus in preparation for meal services.
  • Prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Responsible for the efficient and accurate delivery of food to residents.
  • Assist in the distribution of resident meals during dining experiences.
  • Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.
  • Complete necessary forms, reports, and other tasks to ensure smooth operations of the dietary department.
  • Work closely with the dietician to implement necessary changes to the resident dining experience.
  • Set up meal trays, food carts, and serve food as necessary for the resident dining experience.
  • Address resident concerns in a professional manner and report them to the Director of Dietary Services.
  • Assist in the inventory and storage process of incoming foods, supplies, and other materials.
  • Perform dishwashing procedures to ensure plates, utensils, and other equipment are available for the upcoming resident dining experience.
  • Responsible for assigned cleaning duties in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Report allegations of abuse/neglect and other incidents to the appropriate organization leadership.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Serve Safe Certification strongly recommended.
  • Prior experience working in a long-term care setting and with a high-volume food production setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn new software applications as required by the position.
  • Requires excellent organizational skills and good judgment skills.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives, managers, supervisors, and direct care staff, as well as residents, families, and physicians.
  • Understands directions, communicates, and responds to inquiries promptly.
