Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Meat Clerk to join our team. As a Meat Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, assisting with meat sales, and maintaining a clean and organized meat department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests
  • Assist guests with finding items in the meat department
  • Take orders and special requests
  • Answer the telephone and assist callers
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues
  • Watches over the service case
  • Quality control
  • Maintain a clean and organized meat department
  • Rotate products using the first-in, first-out method
  • Perform inventory and temperature checks
  • Take temperatures of products regularly
  • Fill cupboards with containers, lids, spoons, tags, etc.
  • Required to maintain food safety logs
  • Ensure all quality standards are being met
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule
Qualifications
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
  • Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards
  • Knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Full range of upper body motion
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures
