Job Summary

The Meat Clerk is a key member of our meat department team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that all company policies and procedures are being followed. This role requires a strong understanding of meat department operations, merchandising skills, and the ability to make timely and effective decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to guests, answering questions and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough knowledge of our meat products, including cuts, prices, and promotions.
  • Merchandising: Ensure that the meat department is well-merchandised, with attractive displays and clear signage.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels, rotating stock to ensure freshness and minimizing waste.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that products meet our high standards.
  • Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash and operate a cash register.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other department associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications
  • Customer Service Skills: Provide excellent customer service, responding to guest inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other department associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Lifting: Lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Standing: Stand for long periods of time, with frequent walking and bending.
  • Visual Requirements: Possess good visual acuity, with the ability to read labels and signs.
