Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Porter-Starke Services, a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) based in Valparaiso and serving northwest Indiana. The successful candidate will provide a safe and therapeutic environment for clients, facilitating improvement in functioning levels in an Inpatient Care Center.

Responsibilities
The Mental Health Support Specialist will conduct structured therapeutic group activities and discussions, monitor behavior modifications, and prepare paperwork and other documentation. Additional responsibilities include assisting in emergency special treatment procedures, providing coverage during group activities, and attending team meetings. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to assess client strengths and mental health needs accurately and objectively.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field (BA, BS, BSW, BSC/BSP) or an Associate's degree with relevant professional experience. ANSA/NOMS certification is required, along with CPR and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training. Porter-Starke Services will provide training for candidates who do not already possess these certifications.

Benefits
This rewarding role offers a competitive salary of $42,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including up to $8/hour in shift differential, 401K with 20% company matching, and generous PTO.
