Education Specialist in Speech and Language Therapy

We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team as an Education Specialist in Speech and Language Therapy. This is a remote opportunity to work with students in Alaska, providing virtual therapy services.

About the Role

This position requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience in speech therapy. As an Education Specialist, you will diagnose and treat speech and language disorders virtually, collaborating with school teams and families to ensure student success.

  • Conduct virtual assessments and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Deliver teletherapy sessions using digital tools designed for Alaska-specific educational settings.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with educators and families to integrate therapy goals into the virtual classroom and home life.
  • Regularly monitor student progress and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
  • Stay current on best practices in speech-language pathology, considering the unique challenges and opportunities presented by Alaska's diverse learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and communication with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • State licensure in Alaska or eligibility to practice.
  • Prior experience in school-based SLP settings, although not mandatory, is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in utilizing teletherapy platforms for effective virtual delivery.
  • Exceptional communication skills and cultural sensitivity, essential for building trust with students, families, and educators from diverse backgrounds.
