Position Overview

The primary goal of this position is to ensure that all facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner. The responsibilities outlined below serve as a guideline for the essential tasks required to uphold cleanliness standards across all sites serviced by Flagship.

Compensation

1st shift - $15.00 per hour
2nd shift - $15.00 per hour
3rd shift - $15.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning Duties

  • Utilize industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing machines to sweep, mop, and polish floors.
  • Dust and wash walls, clean ceilings, and maintain light fixtures, occasionally using ladders.
  • Reorganize furniture and equipment to facilitate thorough cleaning.
  • Remove stains from various surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents.
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal and yard maintenance as needed.
  • Handle heavy lifting, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Carpet Care
  • Empty and replace waste basket liners.
  • Dust and clean office furniture surfaces.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas and spot clean as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of lobby glass doors.
  • Sweep and mop tiled surfaces.
Break Room Maintenance
  • Regularly empty waste baskets and replace liners.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, and appliances.
  • Maintain cleanliness of sink and counter areas.
  • Sweep and mop floors in break areas.
Restroom Sanitation
  • Empty waste baskets and replace liners as needed.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, and urinals.
  • Sweep and mop restroom floors with disinfectant.
  • Spot clean restroom walls and refill dispensers.
Non-Carpeted Area Cleaning
  • Maintain cleanliness of non-carpeted floors through sweeping and mopping.
  • Dust and clean surfaces of desks and tables.
Periodic Maintenance Tasks
  • Dust overhead vents and blinds.
  • Polish wooden furniture and clean interior glass.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
  • Ensure janitorial closets are organized and tidy.
  • Maintain all cleaning equipment in proper working condition.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with basic janitorial practices is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and listening.
  • Professional appearance is essential; uniforms may be required.
  • Participation in training and safety meetings is mandatory.
  • Ability to anticipate and meet client needs.
  • Punctuality is crucial.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Prior experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance is desired.
Work Environment
  • Varied office settings from small to large.
  • Safety glasses may be required for certain tasks.
  • Fast-paced work atmosphere.
  • Regular exposure to cleaning products and moderate noise levels.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands for this role include the ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Employees may occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, along with depth perception.
