Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Assistant with approximately a year of experience in dog and cat handling and restraint in a clinical setting to join our team in a hybrid role with our Radiology and Treatment Departments. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Radiologists in appointments and support the treatment floor
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Provide patient care responsibilities, including laundry, husbandry, walking dogs, and cleaning cages
  • Stock supplies in various locations throughout the hospital
  • Ensure cleanliness and integrity of the hospital
  • Perform Fear Free handling techniques to ensure safe and stress-free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
Requirements
  • Approximately a year of experience in dog and cat handling and restraint in a clinical setting
  • Basic knowledge of small animal medicine, including proper restraint/handling, diagnostics, and laboratory testing
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and disease processes
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to focus, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
