Position Overview:
The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor at MDA Edge will oversee the operations of a state-of-the-art automated laboratory. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to both State and Federal regulations, while also complying with CAP guidelines and Quality Assurance protocols.

The Supervisor will follow corporate policies and procedures regarding job execution, client interactions, team dynamics, and the confidentiality of sensitive information.

This role may require licensure and could involve various shifts, including days, evenings, or nights.

The position will report directly to the Senior Director/Director of Laboratory Operations or Senior Laboratory Manager.

Work Schedule:

4 x 10-hour shifts; 4 days of work followed by 3 days off, with rotating weekends approximately every 13 weeks, allowing for flexibility. A Saturday shift is required every 13 weeks, consisting of 8-hour shifts for exempt roles.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or Chemistry is mandatory. A minimum of 6 years of clinical laboratory experience is required to meet supervisory standards. A current Florida Supervisor license in Chemistry is essential, along with certification from a recognized laboratory certifying body, such as ASCP or eligibility for certification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, organize, and lead team members to ensure exceptional customer service.

2. Manage all aspects of team employment, including recruitment, promotions, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions, with necessary approvals.

3. Provide guidance and direction to laboratory staff, ensuring optimal staffing plans for effective operations and coverage during absences.

4. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in test results and reporting within the service line.

5. Apply clinical knowledge and scientific methods to resolve issues.

6. Monitor workflow and assign responsibilities to team members effectively.

7. Collaborate on laboratory quality improvement initiatives, evaluating key performance indicators, including financial metrics such as budgets and departmental expenditures.

8. Assess regulatory and certification standards to maintain inspection readiness.

9. Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures to surpass regulatory and accreditation requirements.
