Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distinguished Engineer to join our team at Capital One. As a Distinguished Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of our Card Decisioning platform, providing technical expertise and guidance to our engineering teams, and driving innovation and excellence in our software development practices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of our Card Decisioning platform, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, scalability, and reliability.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to our engineering teams, helping them to design, develop, and deploy high-quality software solutions.
- Drive innovation and excellence in our software development practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance our processes and tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to ensure that our software solutions meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and technical guides.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development, and apply this knowledge to improve our software development practices and tools.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in full-stack development and cloud computing.
- 7+ years of experience in leading software development teams, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud native technologies, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in full-stack development and cloud computing.
- 10+ years of experience in leading software development teams, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
- 3+ years of experience in solutioning large-scale platforms.
- Familiarity with security engineering and architecture, cloud and software-defined networking, and site reliability engineering.
