Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at Emory University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural biology or genetics and experience in cryo-EM, insect/human cell cultures, or sequencing techniques.

Job Summary:

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work under the guidance of a Principal Investigator to design and conduct research in a specified field. The ideal candidate will have a strong motivation to seek deep mechanistic understanding of R-loop biology and will take ownership of their projects while learning how to work independently.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and evaluate experiments to answer important biological questions
  • Develop new ideas that promote current research
  • Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator
  • May be responsible for operation of specific equipment
  • May teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff
Requirements:
  • A doctoral degree or equivalent in an appropriate field
  • Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in structural biology or genetics or related field
  • Previous experience in cryo-EM, insect/human cell cultures, or sequencing techniques
