About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Mark Himmelstein and in collaboration with Dr. David Budescu of Fordham University.

Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Fellow will support an NSF grant-funded project focused on using planned missing data research designs to estimate how people use advice to revise their judgments without requiring them to directly report their independent prior beliefs first. The position will involve developing new cognitive models for how people revise probability judgments and extending research designs that use planned missing data methods for addressing measurement reactivity areas beyond just advice taking research.

Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Psychology, Computational Social Science, Economics, Data Science, or a related field by the start date.
  • Theoretical background in topics related to judgment and decision making, preferably advice taking research and Judge Advisor Systems.
  • Experience in either psychometric or computational cognitive modeling.
  • Experience with missing data imputation methods.
  • A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
