The Barista is responsible for overseeing operations at the Perk coffee shop located on the Missouri Baptist University campus, fostering a welcoming atmosphere that delivers quick, efficient, and friendly service to ensure an exceptional experience for both customers and colleagues. The Barista's duties include providing excellent customer service, possessing extensive product knowledge, and promoting safe work practices.

Part-time position: 20-30 hours per week, with competitive compensation, access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, optional earned wage access, and scheduled time off during academic breaks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and serves food and beverages in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Delivers service to customers in a friendly, positive, and helpful manner.
  • Takes proactive measures to prevent customer service issues and addresses any incidents that arise, documenting as necessary.
  • Operates the register and other payment devices accurately, adhering to all cash handling protocols.
  • Stays informed about current trends in the coffee industry and offers suggestions for operational improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least one year of retail experience or six months in a specialty coffee environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience with cash handling.
