Job Title: Special Education Teacher

As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and physical growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
  • Utilize technology to enhance instruction, facilitate student learning, and manage data.
  • Provide crisis intervention and restraint procedures in accordance with Board policies and state law.
  • Participate in school and system committees, task forces, and planning teams to drive school improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Alabama teaching certificate in special education.
  • Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups.
Working Conditions:

This is a nine-month position in accordance with the Board's salary schedule. Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the State Department of Education and/or Baldwin County Board of Education policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
