Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a highly skilled clinician who provides expert care to patients in a specialty area. This role requires a Master's degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC), or a Ph.D. from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC), or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or currently enrolled in a Master's, DNP, or Ph.D. clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC), or equivalent coursework and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Provides expert consultation to all care providers
  • Implements improvements in health care delivery systems
  • Teaches, mentors, and consults with healthcare professionals
  • Conducts research and evaluates healthcare outcomes
  • Manages and improves healthcare systems
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC), or Ph.D. from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC), or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or currently enrolled in a Master's, DNP, or Ph.D. clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC), or equivalent coursework and experience will be considered
  • Washington Registered Nurse License
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 3 years registered nursing experience in area of specialty
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current certification as a CNS
  • Current certification in area of specialty
  • 2 years clinical leadership responsibility
