Job Title: FPGA Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join our team at Applied Technology Associates (ATA), a BlueHalo company. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining general-purpose firmware platform architecture, firmware for peripheral interfaces, and automated FPGA firmware platform build scripts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain firmware for analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, and high-speed serial links (SPI, CameraLink, 1 Gb+ Ethernet)
  • Design and implement FPGA physical constraints and manage FPGA floorplanning techniques
  • Develop and maintain automated FPGA firmware platform build scripts using Tool Command Language (TCL)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate FPGA designs into larger systems
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using Xilinx devices (Zynq, Virtex/Kintex) and toolchains (Vivado/ISE)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing using hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog)
  • Knowledge of serial communication protocols and standards
  • Experience with multiple clock-domain digital design techniques
  • Experience with in-system debuggers and logic analyzers
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the Xilinx RFSoC and Ultrascale devices
  • Familiarity with FPGA floorplanning techniques
  • Familiarity with Xilinx System generator and/or MATLAB HDL Coder
  • Familiarity with other computing languages (C/C++, Python, Java)
