Job Summary:

Nurse practitioners and physician assistants provide high-quality patient care services, addressing acute episodic conditions, chronic problems, and preventive care needs. They work in primary care or specialty departments, adhering to Regional Standardized Procedures and Process Protocols for Ambulatory and Hospital-Based Practice.

Key responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and establishing health care plans. They diagnose and treat both chronic and episodic disorders, including complications of normal processes. Effective communication and documentation are essential for maintaining accurate patient records.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Collect subjective data through patient history.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations to gather objective data.
  • Develop accurate diagnoses and implement management plans.
  • Refer patients to appropriate health facilities, agencies, and resources within the community.
  • Order pharmacologic interventions as necessary.
  • Develop and implement educational plans for patients.
  • Plan for follow-up care and manage patients with complicated medical or surgical conditions.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year of experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
  • Graduate of an accredited RN and NP Program or PA program.
  • Nurse Practitioner Certificate (California) and National Certificate, or Physician Assistant License (California) and National Certificate.
  • Basic Life Support certification and National Provider Identifier.
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to consider Physician Assistant II job code 30005.
  • Obtain California Furnishing Number and DEA Registration Number within twelve months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • First Assist certification.
  • Req'd RNFA certification for nurse practitioners.
  • One year of clinical and intraoperative experience in the operating room.
  • Clinic experience.
