Position Overview
As a Press Operator, your primary responsibility will be to manage a progressive automatic stamping press, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and production targets are met in a dynamic, high-volume sheet metal manufacturing environment. This role operates on a swing shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate automatic stamping press and related coil processing equipment to produce products in line with production standards (75%).
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications and identify defects or malfunctions, making necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stamping press area, ensuring all tools and supplies are returned after use (10%).
  • Read work orders to ascertain specifications, including materials and product dimensions (15%).

Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Certification in Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) will be provided upon hire.
  • Six months of manufacturing experience or equivalent education and training.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and raw materials.
  • Strong commitment to safety and the ability to promote a safe work environment.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings and work orders.
  • Proficient in operating a forklift and using measuring tools.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with ERP systems and applications like Word and Outlook.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position include standing for extended periods, frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds, and the ability to operate large equipment.

Work Environment
This role may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and mechanical parts.
