Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Professional to join our team at Legrand North America. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for driving and executing day-to-day accounting activities, providing oversight and direction in the Treasury area, and performing various month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Controller with driving and executing day-to-day accounting activities, including coordinating monthly accruals, schedules, and reporting.
  • Provide oversight and direction in the Treasury area, including reviews of weekly disbursement runs, wire payment releases, and monthly cash projection forecasts.
  • Perform various month-end close activities, including approving and posting monthly journal entries, and approving and analyzing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of general ledger data, and perform balance sheet reviews and review/approve monthly account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating execution of financial audits, and assisting with development of a robust controls' environment.
  • Interact with internal/external audit teams to facilitate efficient execution of audits and participate in all issue remediation efforts.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the fixed asset function, including development of standard reports and projections related to Capex spend and depreciation projections.
  • Maintain standard document on key activities, and work with Controllers and rest of the Accounting Team to identify and execute projects on process improvements and efficiencies.
Requirements
  • BA in Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting working for a multinational company
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail, and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
  • Exceptional computer skills, extensive knowledge of Excel, and company-specific accounting and finance software and systems (SAP for Business, Dataworks, Esker)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation, and to give and receive detailed/complex and sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ability to create effective reports, presentations, and business correspondence
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business
