Transportation Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Transporter to join our team at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. As a Transporter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transport of patients, equipment, and other related functions to meet facility needs.
Key Responsibilities- Clean, maintain, and operate transport equipment, including elevators, to move or escort patients/visitors to and from various hospital areas.
- Sign into iMobile immediately upon arriving on shift and utilize the system in a timely manner.
- Receive formal instruction/direction upon pick-up and provide a formal hand-off report at the destination, when not required to stay with the patient.
- Communicate effectively and collaboratively with patients and staff.
- Alert nursing staff of patient arrival to room for all transfers or new admissions.
- Utilize two patient identifiers prior to transport and follow guidelines concerning communicable disease and Universal Precautions.
- Report any changes in patient status/condition during transport and remove and report defective equipment to the supervisor.
- Reposition rooms to safe and tidy condition by removing clutter from patient care areas.
- High School Graduate/Equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and understand written and oral instructions
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
