As a Logistics Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and fulfilling requests for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials within our customer supply areas.
Key Responsibilities- Process requests for MRO/Indirect Materials in the designated supply room.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers needing assistance with material requests.
- Identify and source MRO/Indirect materials based on customer requirements.
- Facilitate communication between customer maintenance teams, engineering departments, and key vendor representatives.
- Conduct thorough searches within the internal business system to locate materials using various identifiers such as customer part numbers and manufacturer part numbers.
- Perform cycle counts across all MRO/Indirect Material locations to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventory levels, documenting any issues that contribute to variances.
- Manage inventory adjustments, inter-facility transfers, and incoming shipments, ensuring proper counting and verification.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment throughout the facility.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas.
- Comply with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and OSHA regulations.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned by management that are necessary for operational success.
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify minute differences in material specifications.
- Strong background in customer service with a focus on professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on effective interactions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and warehouse inventory software; familiarity with SAP is a significant advantage.
- Experience in Inventory Control operations is preferred.
- General mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of MRO materials and machine components.
