Job Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as Firefighters at the Oswego Fire Protection District. As a Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing medical assistance, and participating in fire prevention and education programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance as needed
  • Participate in fire prevention and education programs to promote fire safety in the community
  • Operate fire apparatus and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Participate in regular training and drills to maintain and improve skills
  • Collaborate with other emergency responders to provide effective and efficient emergency services
Requirements
  • Must be at least 19 years of age to apply
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have current EMT-P (Paramedic) certification
  • Must have Illinois State Fire Marshal Certified Basic Operations Firefighter or Firefighter II certification
  • Must pass a Candidate Physical Ability Test with Ladder Climb Certification
  • Must be of sound mental and physical health
