Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health Inpatient team at ECHN. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient-centered care, working collaboratively with colleagues to coordinate patient care and promote positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patient care needs, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
  • Develop and revise individualized treatment plans, involving patients and families in the formulation of goals and evaluating overall plan effectiveness.
  • Follow the five medication rights, reducing the potential for medication errors, and demonstrate knowledge of medications, including psychotropic drugs, and their correct administration based on patient age and clinical condition.
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and promotes positive patient outcomes, documenting the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate and communicate with all members of the treatment team to effectively meet the treatment needs of patients, providing psychotherapeutic treatment and participating in Early Response codes and Dr. Strong codes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a current Registered Nurse license in the state of Connecticut.
  • Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire and maintenance of clinical competency during employment with ECHN.
  • Training in PMT and de-escalation techniques, with certification within 6 months of hire into the role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using the English language in both verbal and writing situations, with basic computer skills and the ability to take swift and efficient action in emergency situations.
