Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring financial accuracy and timely accruals in compliance with GAAP.
- Assist in the annual audit process.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Customer Deposits, Unearned Revenue, Sales Tax Payable, prepaid accounts, Intercompany transactions, Concur, and Accrued Liabilities.
- Prepare closing documentation to ensure reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable subledgers with the general ledger.
- Compile monthly financial reporting packages, reviewing Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Statement of Cash Flows, and Year-to-Date Margin Reporting summaries.
- Review and prepare invoicing for Job Cost reports, maintain the Job Cost/Inventory system, analyze margin performance and variances, and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
- Participate in the development of SMART performance objectives that are measurable, attainable, and challenging based on employee experience levels.
- Prepare journal entries and manage accrual-based accounting practices in accordance with GAAP.
- Act as the primary contact for ad hoc requests from Operations.
- Prepare reports required by regulatory bodies, due diligence agencies, or other external entities.
- Contribute to the coordination of the annual budgeting process for revenue.
- Develop a detailed revenue forecasting process.
- Possess strong FP&A experience, with an understanding of how to construct detailed margin reports, adjustments affecting margin calculations, and the impact of overhead, freight, and other indirect costs on margins.
Assist the VP of Finance with additional ad hoc requests as needed.
Qualifications:
- Skills:
- Proficiency in English is required, including the ability to speak, read, and write effectively.
- Strong foundation in basic arithmetic, statistics, and financial reporting necessary for completing month-end deliverables, including detailed margin reports and high-level financial reporting.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel is essential.
- Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required. A CPA, CMA, or MBA is advantageous.
- A minimum of three years of experience in an accounting supervisory role is required.
- Preference for a dynamic, outgoing individual with excellent interpersonal skills and clear communication abilities, both orally and in writing.
- Physical and Mental Demands:
- This position is primarily office-based, involving typical office physical demands such as sitting, typing, reaching for files, and occasional lifting of packages weighing less than 25 pounds.
- Working Conditions:
- The primary work environment is a general office setting, with some travel required.
