As a Logistics Coordinator at Sysco, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of customer orders. You will be responsible for utilizing Roadnet software packages and associated utilities to generate optimal route solutions, while adhering to hours of service and weight laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Route Planning and Optimization: Plan and optimize routes to minimize delivery times, reduce miles, and improve cost control.
- Route Maintenance: Perform standard route maintenance to capture changes and ensure accurate daily loading and door information.
- Scheduling and Compliance: Schedule drivers to remain within overtime guidelines and hours of service laws and regulations, while ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and other applicable regulations.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports for sales and management, and analyze existing routes for opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Proposal Development: Develop proposals for transportation management to improve efficiency, customer service, and safety.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with a college degree preferred.
- Professional Skills: Computer skills, analytical/mathematical skills, accuracy, reliability, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge and Experience: Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and ability to learn Sysco software and programs.
