Job Title: Senior Design Engineer

At Thrush Aircraft, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for applying engineering principles to design, enhance, and evaluate complex components and/or systems for new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities:
• Generate solutions to complex challenges requiring a multi-discipline approach.
• Be involved in project planning, analysis, design, testing, and writing technical and certification reports.
• Discuss and direct other team members within the scope of the project.

Requirements:
• BS degree in either Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• Minimum 7 years of engineering and design experience in the aerospace industry.
• Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD design tools and principles.
• Self-motivated with the ability to handle assignments under minimum supervision.
• Knowledge of structural analysis.
• Familiarity with other engineering principles and other engineering fields.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Require knowledge and experience with products that are required to meet FAA standards.
• Essential project management skills, including project planning and budget evaluations.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:
• SolidWorks 3D CAD (Min. V Current) - Certified Professional preferred.
• Designs aircraft structural components - primary and secondary structure.
• Must have experience with engineering change processes such as drawing change request, engineering change request, engineering change notice, etc.
• Must have a complete understanding of ASME Y and possesses a working knowledge in the use of GD&T.
• Interfaces with other departments to resolve questions and technical issues.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
