We are seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician in River Edge, NJ
The Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring that communal areas are well-maintained, managing waste disposal, snow removal, and performing various light tasks as directed by their supervisor. Our technicians play a crucial role in presenting our exceptional properties and providing residents with prompt and courteous assistance for all custodial needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep the leasing office, model units, and shared public areas of the community in a tidy, clean, and appealing condition.
- Maintain all outdoor spaces, including sidewalks, public pathways, stairways, building exteriors, and garden areas in a neat and attractive manner.
- Assist in preparing vacant apartment homes for rental in a timely fashion; help with appliance installations and modifications.
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris from community areas.
- Clear snow during winter months and remove any obstructions that may affect safety throughout the year, such as trash, branches, and piles of leaves.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks and repairs in accordance with company standards and within specified timeframes.
- Uphold company customer service standards. Address resident requests and collaborate with residents to resolve issues and complaints, ensuring follow-through to achieve resident satisfaction.
- Adhere to all applicable Mac policies and procedures, including company operational and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, particularly Fair Housing laws.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- Prior experience in a janitorial or maintenance role is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to identify cleaning supplies and chemicals.
- Capability to frequently transport up to 50 pounds over varying distances, with the mobility to use necessary equipment and access restricted spaces or heights exceeding 8-9 feet.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb (stairs, ladders, etc.).
