POSITION SUMMARY:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the daily hot lunch service, adhering to portion control, presentation standards, and quality benchmarks.
  • Organize cooking tasks to meet meal serving schedules, including breakfast and lunch, while practicing batch cooking techniques.
  • Compile and submit orders for food and supplies based on menu requirements and production records.
  • Conduct temperature checks during meal service to guarantee food is served at the appropriate temperature, documenting results accordingly.

HEALTH AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE:
  • Adhere to sanitation standards as mandated by local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist in the execution and monitoring of cleaning schedules for kitchen areas and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production records and temperature logs, contributing to overall kitchen operations.
  • Comply with all food handling certification requirements.
  • Participate in weekly meetings led by the head chef or manager.
  • Consistently follow all company policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, supporting the mission and objectives of the organization. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of all required training as specified by the organization and regulatory bodies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, to fulfill job responsibilities. A minimum of one year of experience in a professional food service environment is preferred. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands of this position include:
  • Frequent standing, walking, talking, and hearing.
  • Using hands to handle or operate equipment and reach with arms.
  • Standing for extended periods and moving throughout the kitchen.
  • Lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is primarily based in a kitchen setting, requiring movement in and out of storage areas and proximity to cooking equipment. The noise level can range from moderate to loud, with exposure to varying temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration processes. The responsibilities outlined are representative of the tasks expected in this role, and the organization reserves the right to modify duties as necessary.
