Job Summary:

The University of California, Irvine seeks a highly skilled Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a registered nurse with advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in neonatal intensive care nursing, you will assess the needs of patients and family units within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and assist in the planning, execution, and evaluation of nursing care.

The ideal candidate will be an expert practitioner who realizes optimum quality nursing practice through direct patient care, clinical staff development, consultation, and research. You will coordinate and guide clinical activities/projects of nurses within a practice area and collaborate with members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of patients and family units within the NICU
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate nursing care
  • Coordinate and guide clinical activities/projects of nurses within a practice area
  • Collaborate with members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies

Requirements:

  • Current California RN license
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and NRP certification
  • M.S.N, with Clinical Nurse Speciality
  • Minimum of five years acute hospital experience in NICU

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
