Job Title: Registered Nurse - DOU - Direct Observation Unit

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Direct Observation Unit (DOU) at our Somersworth, New Hampshire location.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our DOU. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative and supportive nursing and provider team, with great nurse-to-patient ratios. Our robust onboarding and orientation process ensures that you will receive the training and support you need to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care in the DOU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN licensure.
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an ED or DOU setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 12 months of hire.
