Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Conway Medical Center. The successful candidate will assist in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias in the Cath Lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in diagnostic catheterization procedures, IABP placement and operation, and implantation of pacemakers, ICDs, and BIV ICDs.
  • Prepare and maintain the procedure room, including stocking, daily QC checks, radiographic, hemodynamic, and computer setup, and room cleanup.
  • Monitor patient status during procedures, provide age and gender-specific care, and perform EKG lead placement, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry setup for hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Acquire and document patient data in the electronic health record and enter into hemodynamic and X-ray systems.
  • Operate physiologic and radiographic equipment safely and correctly, assess procedure room readiness, and obtain supplies for individual cases.
  • Educate patients on procedure expectations, post-procedural limitations, and restrictions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology required.
  • Minimum two years' experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist required.
  • Minimum one year experience in Cardiac Intervention required.
  • Minimum one year experience in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention required.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required (Advanced Registry preferred).
  • Certification with the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential preferred.

  • Knowledge of anatomy and radiographic exposure required.
  • Proficiency in radiation protection practices required.
