Electrical and Automation Engineer (Entry/Experienced)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preliminary studies to identify optimal solutions for industrial investment initiatives, particularly in tire testing and measurement machinery.
  • Facilitate the design or integration phases, ensuring adherence to established protocols and relevant standards.
  • Manage the design, implementation, installation, and commissioning of automated control systems.
  • Perform feasibility assessments, analyzing costs, timelines, risks, and functional criteria.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth system integration.
  • Support the quality assurance framework and methodologies, including risk assessments and design evaluations.
  • Work with relevant teams to secure validations and meet critical objectives in equipment development.
  • Assist with prototype initiatives and maintain existing equipment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering; however, candidates with strong potential may be considered and will receive appropriate training.
  • Experience in designing automated control systems, including drives, servos, electrical panels, safety designs, and measurement systems.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming standards and software, such as Ladder Logic and Structured Text, with specific experience in Rockwell being advantageous.
  • Experience in HMI configuration, programming, and communication, with a preference for Rockwell experience.
  • Strong communication abilities, capable of influencing and resolving issues effectively.
  • Proven track record of setting and achieving goals with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong teamwork and planning capabilities.
  • Project management or team leadership experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Project, and Teams.
Desirable Skills/Competencies:
  • Knowledge of PLCs, including AB PLC5, AB SLC, AB MicroLogix, AB ControlLogix, Siemens, etc.
  • Familiarity with AC and DC drive systems, servo systems, and safety designs.
  • Experience in electrical panel design.
  • Understanding of measurement techniques, including DAQ, noise reduction, filtering, strain gauge, piezo, etc.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as Ethernet, DH+, Modbus TCP, IOlink, etc.
  • Project management skills, including estimating, PCS, MOC, acceptance, etc.
