About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Specialist to join our team at Excel Engineering. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical and control systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design electrical and fluid schematic packages, including I/O, magnetic circuits, fusing, control panel layouts, bills of material, and cable layouts.
  • Project Management: Work with clients to develop project scope and estimate, develop proposals, and carry projects through completion.
  • Team Leadership: Lead large projects by defining and issuing work to assigned team members or run multiple small projects with minimal direction.
  • Documentation: Create all project documents according to internal processes to ensure that designs meet client expectations.
  • Programming: Create Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programs and HMI applications from user requirements or functional specifications.
  • System Validation: Perform system validation according to scope documentation and project requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience as an industrial control system/automation engineer.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Rockwell Automation ControlLogix PLC Platform, Siemens S7 PLC Platform, Modicon PLC Platform, FactoryTalk View SE and ME.
