About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Child Development Specialist to join our team at Brighter Beginnings. As a key member of our Early Head Start/Head Start program, you will play a vital role in supporting the healthy development of children from birth to age 5 and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly home visits with participating families to promote positive birth outcomes, enhance child development, and foster healthy family relationships.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate parent and child activities based on the EHS/HS curriculum.
  • Coordinate with teammates to plan and implement group socializations for children.
  • Collaborate with caregivers to ensure children receive necessary health and dental screenings, immunizations, and nutrition assessments.
  • Complete required assessments with families in a timely manner and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Meet deadlines for paperwork, documentation, and grant reports.
  • Work with community partner agencies to access services for participating families.
Requirements
  • Preferred: Four-year degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or related field, or some college with relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with children from 0-5 years old and their families.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is required.
  • Strong computer skills and writing abilities.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable vehicle, and car insurance.
