Job Summary

Vets Hired is seeking a highly skilled Senior SCADA Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and programming Unix Operating System Servers using C, Perl, Java, shell, and Advanced Control Systems proprietary programming languages and Prism SCADA servers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and program Unix Operating System Servers to facilitate corporate monitoring and control of all connected substations.
  • Develop new and modify existing substation database and drawings.
  • Administer, maintain, and program Oracle Database using self-developed Utility Data Model to pull and archive historical data from PRISM system and using SQL to generate reports from data.
  • Administer, maintain, and program Windows 2000 workstations, including updating software and securing stations and networks.
  • Collect and analyze weather and load data and recommend load control strategies.
  • Monitor system performance and faults to assist in troubleshooting and restoration.
  • Develop reports to analyze system performance.
  • Research and recommend new technologies and implementation strategies.
  • Coordinate station testing with Technical Services Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any network failures on the SCADA network consisting of hubs, switches, routers, modems, telecommunications lease circuits, and fiber Ethernet.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated senior-level technical expertise and leadership within the division to produce positive results through planning, communication, and administration of policies and programs.
  • Ability to work continually towards self-development to stay current on SCADA, load management, and computer and system operations procedures and practices.
