As an SBA Loan Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in facilitating our SBA loan processes. This remote position involves managing the various stages of the SBA loan lifecycle, from application submission to loan closing. You will serve as the key point of contact between the Business Development Officer, underwriters, borrowers, and the Small Business Administration (SBA) regarding collateral assessments and loan documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison among the Business Development Officer, underwriters, borrowers, and the SBA for collateral evaluations and loan documentation.
- Conduct thorough reviews of SBA eligibility.
- Coordinate with Loan Operations to ensure timely funding.
- Collaborate with Lender Service Providers (LSP) to facilitate prompt closings.
- Oversee the loan closing process and follow up on due diligence.
- Manage the complete loan process, including processing and closing.
- Maintain individual pipelines for all SBA-required loan applications.
- Ensure that all loan files are accurately documented and comply with SBA and bank standards.
- Stay updated on changes to the SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Submit loans for approval through ETRAN.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to borrowers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with:
- 3-5 years of experience in SBA loan closing.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A strong understanding of the SBA SOP.
- The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset and a desire to work within a team.
- Proven skills in managing pressure, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining organization.
- Effective communication skills with customers and stakeholders.
- The capability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A college degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- An affinity for Climate First Bank's mission and commitment to sustainability.
Physical Requirements:
This role may involve:
- Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
- Frequent use of a computer, including typing and sustained attention to a monitor.
- Occasional lifting of office materials or equipment up to 20 lbs.
