About the Role

Saildrone Inc is seeking an experienced Lead Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our hydrography operations team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of bathymetric surveys, including survey line planning, mission preparation, and data acquisition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of survey watch-standers and ensure the successful completion of surveys.
  • Work closely with the Bathymetry Operations Manager, Bathymetry Technical Program Manager, and Bathymetry Data Manager to ensure mission success.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for survey operations.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and test new vehicles, sensors, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry standards, and local regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Hydrography, Oceanography, Geomatics, Remote Sensing, or related discipline.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading hydrographic/bathymetric survey teams as lead surveyor, party chief, or project manager.
  • Familiarity with Kongsberg multibeam systems and Seafloor Information System.
Desirable Skills
  • Category A Hydrographer Certification.
  • NSPS-THSOA Certified Hydrographer.
  • Experience using uncrewed surface vehicles or other autonomous systems for survey operations.
