This is a 0.75 FTE, 30 hours/week, nights position with every 3rd weekend rotation and holiday rotation.
The Licensed Practical Nurse will work on our Medical Unit, which is a fast-paced area that focuses on a variety of medical diagnoses including Cardiac, Pulmonary, Renal, Oncology, Infectious disease, Neurological, Psychiatric, Surgical, and COVID-19.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting data on the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, assisting with implementing the plan of care, and demonstrating clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform delegated tasks using evidence-based practice and specific competencies to collect data on the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and assists with implementing the plan of care.
- Assists in meeting the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrates clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned and performs all functions of the licensed practical nurse that are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.
- Identifies ways to improve the patient's experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.
- Contributes to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians.
- Maintains positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and to improve patient care.
- Demonstrates, anticipates, and proactively manages risk to prevent crises.
- Performs skillfully in life-threatening emergencies, matching demands and resources during crisis situations.
To be considered for this position, you must have current Wisconsin LPN licensure and American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
You should also be able to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of Fifty (50) pounds without assistance.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent exposure to blood-borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties.
- Occasional exposure to sharp objects and instruments.
- Occasional high noise level in work environment.
- Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time.
Salary: $35-$45 per hour, estimated annual salary $72,000 - $93,600 based on 36 scheduled weekly hours.
