We're redesigning the future of clinical care, empowering nurses to drive high-quality care across the continuum. Our Medical unit is a 37-bed Unit that focuses on various medical diagnoses, including Cardiac, Pulmonary, Renal, Oncology, Infectious disease, Neurological, Psychiatric, Surgical, and COVID-19. This area is one of the stepdown units to the ICU.

Our Neenah Hospital is a level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with a specialized patient population. This is a fast-paced unit that works closely with the Provider Hospitalist Team who is in-house 24/7 to attend to our patients' needs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Perform delegated patient care activities using evidence-based practice and specific competencies for the patient population served.
  • Check patients' vital signs, height, and weight as needed, based on patient type.
  • Provide compassionate care and listen to patients' concerns, guiding them by answering any questions or concerns.
  • Identify and escalate changes in patient status or patient risks to prevent crisis.
  • Collect clinical data and information on patients and report to the care team.
  • Reposition, transfer, ambulate, and transport patients.
  • Assist patients with basic needs, such as hygiene, eating, using the restroom, and dressing.
  • Obtain and report patient intake and output.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs) as directed.
  • Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
  • Provide care that is age-appropriate, culturally specific, and developmentally appropriate in an environment that promotes patient safety.
  • Demonstrate professional and therapeutic relationships with patients, families, team members, and providers.
