Job Summary

The Allentown School District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Manager to oversee the GEAR UP program. This individual will be responsible for supervising district GEAR UP employees, ensuring all GEAR UP activities are aligned with the district's action plan, and coordinating GEAR UP services with schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with GEAR UP staff to develop and implement the annual action plan
  • Oversee day-to-day GEAR UP-4 counseling work
  • Coordinate and oversee all implementation activities with GEAR UP staff
  • Responsible for overseeing district data collection
  • Maintain accurate and complete records
  • Collaborate with GEAR UP staff to develop the monthly GEAR UP report
  • Ensure consistent communication with GEAR UP and school district staff
Fiscal Responsibilities
  • Oversee the school district budget
  • Ensure all purchases and activities are allowable under GEAR UP guidelines
  • Submit school district invoices and required documentation by the 15th of each month
  • Submit matching funds to PA GEAR UP
  • Attend regional quarterly PASSHE meetings and monthly district GEAR UP staff meetings
  • Travel to meetings at the school district and other GEAR UP partner locations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Community Development, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Prior experience in school/community relations, working with parents, and/or teaching students
  • Experience working in federal grant programs and analyzing program data
  • Collaborative program planning and facilitation experience
  • Ability to work in a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive manner
  • Satisfactory work record and criminal/child abuse clearances
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational and data management skills
