As a Cloud Financial Operations Engineer, Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Addressing business challenges through innovative solutions, automation, and adherence to cloud engineering best practices.
  • Supporting clients in managing their cloud budgets by analyzing and optimizing expenditures.
  • Engaging in knowledge-sharing sessions with team members and business partners.
  • Delivering presentations to senior management.
  • Driving cost optimization by identifying, developing, and sharing opportunities for savings, translating financial insights into actionable strategies.
  • Collaborating with clients' financial and technical teams to gather requirements, identify gaps, create roadmaps, and implement effective solutions.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

To Excel in This Role, You Should Have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Cloud Financial Operations or cloud expenditure optimization.
  • FinOps Practitioner Certification is advantageous.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS Cost Explorer and other AWS Cost Management tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud economics, AWS services, and pricing models.
  • Familiarity with:
    • AWS Trusted Advisor
    • AWS EC2, EKS, RDS, Autoscaler, etc.
    • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in working groups to establish best practices and usage examples.
    • Utilizing AWS APIs for data extraction from relevant tools for further analysis.
    • AWS QuickSight and/or Cloud Intelligence Dashboards.
    • Microsoft Azure experience.
    • SAFe Agile methodology is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud management platforms or billing systems.
  • A BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
  • Proficiency in various modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
  • Awareness of industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
  • A strong understanding of financial control and budget management.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively within large teams to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Providing detailed accounting and payment information for cloud expenditures.
  • Preparing monthly presentations for Cloud Finance and Cost Optimization across all business units.
  • Researching and identifying opportunities for cloud cost optimization as part of a continuous improvement strategy.
  • Producing metrics, reports, and recommendations for financial excellence in cloud operations.
  • Creating customized reports with tailored recommendations based on budget, best practices, timelines, and goals.
  • Conducting cost and usage analyses, trend forecasting, and developing strategies for cloud adoption.
  • Staying informed about the latest cost optimization strategies and technologies, gathering insights to develop new strategies and presenting solutions to leadership.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage complex spreadsheets and analyze large datasets.
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira.
  • Permanent Residency is required.
