Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

At Duininck Minnesota and South Dakota, we are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing semi-trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment in our state-of-the-art shop located in Spicer, MN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including hydraulic components, steering systems, engines, transmissions, and braking systems.
  • Diagnose and repair problems related to heavy equipment, utilizing Cummins Insite or CAT SIS software.
  • Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance projects within the shop and field as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians to perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Travel to job sites to perform P.M.s, diagnostics, and assist in repairs as needed.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all vehicle maintenance and repairs, including recording work performed, time, and materials used.
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and document the work.
Requirements:
  • Two-year college or technical school degree or 3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of operational and mechanical functions of heavy equipment.
  • Experience working on heavy trucks, trailers, and medium-duty vehicles.
  • Solid knowledge of heavy construction equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, transmissions, electrical, fuel, and other systems.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn business applications.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Clean driving record required.
