Job Title: Registered Nurse - Fertility

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Florida Reproductive Specialists by IVF Florida. As a key member of our fertility team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our patients.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Fertility will be responsible for providing expert care and service to patients undergoing fertility treatments. This includes coordinating patient care, developing treatment plans, and providing emotional support to patients throughout their fertility journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Counsel patients through fertility treatment after consultation with the physician and fertility team
  • Assist fertility team in ensuring that all appropriate consents are sent to patients and are returned in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and develop care for assigned physicians' In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Embryo Transfer (ET/FET), Egg Vitrification, and Mock Cycle patients
  • Coordinate patients' timelines, calendars, and protocols
  • Provide knowledgeable answers to patients' questions regarding their cycles and calendars
  • Provide fertility education, including medication teaching, resources, and diagnostic testing
  • Provide emotional and compassionate support to patients throughout their fertility journey
  • Ensure that all required labs and diagnostic testing are completed within designated time frames, in accordance with FDA/CDC guidelines
  • Review schedules daily, after physicians have reviewed and provided orders, regarding ultrasound and lab tests, and contact patients with appropriate instructions
  • Perform routine patient assessments, as necessary (i.e., height, weight, vital signs)
  • Responsible for detailed and accurate documentation in each patient's chart
  • Review patients' charts to identify potential medical problems that require evaluation prior to proceeding with fertility treatment
  • Perform phlebotomy, cultures, and intrauterine inseminations
  • Responsible for triaging phone calls and portal messages received from the IVF/FET nurse line and/or portal, and providing instructions per patient's treatment plan
  • Develop OR schedules in coordination with the OR and embryology departments on designated monitoring days and as needed, and call patients with their pre-op instructions
  • Responsible for following up post-treatment/post-procedure to assess for any additional needs or emergent signs/symptoms for immediate evaluation
  • Responsible for continued monitoring of established pregnancies with physician direction during the first 10-12 weeks of gestation
  • Assure that all required documentation is completed for SART data reporting
  • Serve as a clinical point person on a rational basis in support of the Clinical Nurse Manager in overseeing the daily clinical operations
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and calling for assistance from other healthcare support personnel when appropriate
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to HIPAA, infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
  • Operate specialty equipment per manufacturer's recommendations and/or policy and procedure
Requirements:
  • Active RN license
  • 1+ years of clinical RN experience
  • Women's health, OB/GYN, or fertility experience strongly preferred
  • Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
  • Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
