Gymnastics Coach

The YMCA of Glendale, CA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gymnastics Instructor to lead our gymnastics programs. As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will be responsible for providing instruction in gymnastics skills to children and adults, using age-appropriate techniques and drills.

• Lead warm-ups and instruct on basic techniques for progressive level gymnastic classes.
• Ensure safety and provide an enjoyable environment for students at all times.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective program.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities.

• Current job-specific certifications.
• Five years gymnastics experience with at least one year experience teaching gymnastics.
• Physical ability to lead and interact in fitness activities and perform related physical fitness skills.
• Certification requirements include, within 30 days of hire, CPR/AED and First Aid; Child Abuse Prevention (for Youth and Family Fitness programs).
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others required and must enjoy working with children.
• Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
• Must be personable, decisive and willing to be a leader.
• Physical ability to lift children.
• Ability to work independently, be organized and quality oriented.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
