Job SummaryThe YMCA of Glendale, CA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gymnastics Instructor to lead our fitness programs. As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will be responsible for providing instruction in gymnastics skills using age-appropriate techniques and drills.
Key Responsibilities- Class Instruction: Lead warm-ups for each class and instruct on basic techniques for progressive level gymnastic classes.
- Safety and Risk Management: Ensure a safe environment for students at all times and take necessary precautions to prevent injuries.
- Program Development: Develop and implement engaging and challenging gymnastics programs for students of all ages and skill levels.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other instructors and staff to achieve program goals and objectives.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest gymnastics techniques and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
- Education and Certification: Current job-specific certifications and a minimum of 5 years of gymnastics experience, with at least 1 year of teaching experience.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lead and interact in fitness activities and perform related physical fitness skills.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with children and adults.
- Leadership and Management Skills: Ability to lead and manage a team of instructors and staff.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
The Gymnastics Instructor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with moderate to high noise levels. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to tolerate physical demands of the job is required.
