We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our food service department at Advocate Health.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and guidance to food service staff, ensuring high-quality food and exceptional service to patients and customers.
- Monitor and adjust department operations to ensure efficient and timely service, maintaining appropriate staffing levels and productivity.
- Assist with human resource responsibilities, including interviewing and selection of new employees, staff development, and employee morale.
- Maintain a quality food production operation, ensuring food is prepared and served safely and efficiently.
- Act as a resource person, resolving problems and providing training in food preparation, safety, and sanitation.
- ServSafe Food Handler certification issued by the National Restaurant Association is required within 1 year.
- High School Graduate
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in food preparation, service techniques, cashiering, and sanitation standards in a large hospital or hotel/restaurant food service environment.
- Strong knowledge of food service from within a hospital, restaurant, or related environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of people.
- Ability to read and understand written and oral communications.
- Self-directed, able to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain a friendly and cheerful demeanor, reflecting the culture of healing.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of food/drug interactions and food allergens.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office or similar products.
